We had classes together every semester at Ohio Wesleyan University (small school!).  John would occasionally borrow Spanish books from Casey and they'd see each other at parties, but we were just acquaintances at best. 

It wasn't until studying abroad in Spain (Casey's junior year, John's senior year) that we connected and started to date.
