Carolanne and John met at Xavier University's Orientation (only two days after moving into college!). During a classic icebreaker game with 40+ people, John stated a fact to which only Carolanne could relate. The two exchanged a double high-five and the rest is history.

In preparation for Xavier University's Graduation, John strategically arranged for a graduation photoshoot with two close friends. Dressed to impress, the two couples reminisced through their four year on campus - taking photos in locations which played a significant role in their journey. For John and Carolanne, these photos included Buenger Hall (their freshmen year dorm), the R2 sunset hill (where they shared their first kiss), Smith Hall (the business school from which they graduated), and Bellarmine Chapel (where they celebrated mass and where John was planning to propose). However, the couple never got photos in front of Bellarmine because a wedding was getting dismissed as they approached the building! John was quick to problem solve and swiftly lead Carolanne and the others towards the Our Lady of Peace Chapel on the other side of campus. This more intimate location would serve as the final location for the photoshoot where John got down on one knee and Carolanne said "yes"!
