Our story starts off as any typical college story. John came into Boston College in 2015 as a homesick freshman uncertain about how BC would fit into his life. Encouraged by some upperclassmen, John took a leap of faith and decided to attend his first BC CSA (Chinese Students Association) event - CSA lunchables. Carie, then a sophomore on the CSA E-board, warmly welcomed him in. They hit it off immediately, bonding over their shared New York roots. From there, their friendship blossomed over the years through late-night conversations, numerous adventures, and long bus rides from Boston to NYC.
On August 28th, Carie had plans to meet up with a long-time client and friend for dinner. Her friend, who also happens to be a photographer, led her to a "rooftop restaurant" where she was greeted by flowers, candles, a picnic blanket, and a small projector aimed at a large blank screen. Carie initially thought she had walked into someone else's plans, but she eventually sat down on the blanket as the projector turned on. A video montage, put together by John, began playing, showcasing cherished moments from Carie and John's adventures throughout the years. As the video began to fade, John walked out, led Carie to the arch overlooking the NYC skyline, and proposed. Shortly after Carie said yes, they celebrated with all their close family and friends, enjoying champagne and cake.
