Question

What do I need to enter Puerto Rico?

Answer

All passengers must complete an online Travel Declaration Form from the Puerto Rico Health Department, which can be accessed at www.travelsafe.pr.gov All travelers must obtain an Airport Exit Confirmation number and QR Code, which travelers will automatically receive when completing the Travel Declaration form and uploading their PCR molecular test results or proof of vaccination to the Puerto Rico Health Department’s online portal.

Question

What if I am not vaccinated?

Answer

Non-vaccinated passengers must demonstrate a negative PCR molecular or antigen COVID-19 test result (which consists of a nasal or throat swab), taken no more than 72 hours prior. Results will need to be uploaded to PR's travel portal (www.travelsafe.pr.gov).

Question

Do children need to get tested for COVID-19?

Answer

Yes. Any domestic traveler above the age of 2 who is not vaccinated or any international traveler must get tested and present a negative PCR molecular or antigen COVID-19 test result upon arrival.

Question

Do I have to get a PCR molecular COVID-19 test to return to the United States from Puerto Rico?

Answer

Given Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, the destination is excluded from the CDC requirement and you do not need to provide a negative COVID-19 test result to return to the mainland United States. The CDC still recommends getting tested 3 – 5 days after arrival and staying home for 7 days post-travel. Quarantine mandates, recommendations, and entry requirements may vary by state.
