Welcome to our wedding!

John and Avrie met through mutual friends, Mike Cascio and Carl Matthews, in the Fall of 2016. Avrie was in her junior year and John was a sophomore at Colorado State University. Though Avrie and John had never crossed paths in college, thanks to social media, Avrie caught a rare glimpse of John through Mike’s Snapchat and she asked Mike to "drop her name" to this attractive stranger she had never seen before. Knowing the match would be a perfect one, both Mike and Carl put in a good word for Avrie (bless them). After a week of no action on John's part, Avrie decided to take matters into her own hands and reached out to John directly on Instagram to tell him she was interested in getting to know him better. After a very smooth pick-up line from John, the two met up for ice cream at The Walrus on a beautiful late September day in Fort Collins, Colorado, where they spent hours getting to know one another (while John beat Avrie in multiple games of Jenga, without mercy). And the rest was history! The couple have been lovingly together for over eight years and they look forward to their June wedding in 2025.
