A: The ceremony will be held entirely online via Zoom on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 8:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). Please be mindful of the time zone, and be ready to join no more than 5 minutes prior!
A: Your love, support, and presence at our virtual ceremony are the only gifts we could ask for. We are not registered anywhere and kindly request no gifts. Seriously!
A: As a military couple, our current assignments prevent us from being in the same place at the same time. Waiting to organize an in-person event would likely extend our time stationed apart, so we decided to move forward with a virtual ceremony now! We are so excited to make it official and share this moment with all of you.
A: Yes! We are planning to have a larger, in-person wedding celebration with all the traditional festivities (vows, rings, dancing, and more!) when we are able to be together. An in-person celebration will likely have to wait until late 2026 at the earliest. We will be sure to update everyone as those plans develop!
A: It absolutely is! This will be our legal marriage ceremony, and we'll officially become husband and wife. We see our future in-person event as a chance to celebrate with everyone, but this virtual wedding will be our legal marriage and serve as our wedding anniversary date. We're so happy you can be with us for this important milestone.
A: We are using a service, "Courtly", that facilitates legal marriage ceremonies online, specifically through Utah's virtual marriage laws. It handles the entire process, from securing the marriage license to the ceremony itself. The laws in the state of Utah are what allow us to legally marry while physically separated, and the marriage is then recognized in all 50 United States.
