FAQs

Question

Is Puerto Vallarta safe?

Answer

Yes! We've always felt very comfortable here, and Puerto Vallarta is known as one of Mexico’s safest and most visitor‑friendly destinations. The areas around the hotel zone, Marina, and Romantic Zone are lively, walkable, and well‑patrolled as they are mainly fueled by tourists. As with any travel destination, we recommend normal awareness (just like you would in any major city in the US), but overall, it’s a very comfortable place to explore.

Question

Can we bring our kids?

Answer

Wedding festivities will be for guests ages 13 and up. While we adore all the kiddos in our lives, we are hoping to create a relaxed, adults-style atmosphere for the weekend, so that parents can let loose and enjoy themselves as well!

Question

What’s the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

We’ll add a full description on the main page closer to the events - but think beach‑formal: elevated, celebratory, breeze‑friendly.

Question

How easy is it to get around?

Answer

Very. Ubers and taxis are widely available and affordable, and most popular spots are only a short ride away. Puerto Vallarta is also very walkable, especially along the Malecón and in Zona Romantica, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and beaches close together. If you prefer not to walk, ride‑share is quick and convenient.

Question

Where is the best airport to travel into?

Answer

Puerto Vallarta's main airport, and the one we'd recommend flying directly into, is Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR).

Question

Do I need pesos?

Answer

It’s helpful but not required. Most places accept cards, and many accept USD, but you’ll get the best prices and easiest transactions with pesos (especially for taxis, markets and small vendors). ATMs are easy to find near hotels and tourist areas.

Question

Do I need to speak Spanish?

Answer

Not at all! Most people working in tourism- hotels, restaurants, transportation- speak excellent English. “Hola” and “gracias” go a long way, but you’ll get around easily without any Spanish.

Question

Should I Rent a Car?

Answer

Up to you! Puerto Vallarta is pretty easy to navigate without a car. Uber and taxis are widely available and affordable, and most wedding events will be centrally located or will have transportation provided. You won’t need to rent a vehicle unless you’re planning additional day trips, or strongly prefer driving!

Question

How's the weather?

Answer

We're expecting warm, tropical weather. Evenings are usually comfortable, and daytime can be sunny and humid- so we recommend packing light, breathable clothing, sunscreen, and a couple swimsuits. Average temperatures in November can range between 64°F at the low, to 88°F at the high.
