A long time ago in a small town far, far away…we met in our high school library. Technically, the first time we spoke was on Spirit Day -- Seniors were "camouflage" and Juniors were Superheroes. While most Seniors were decked out in army green and camo-print, John came into the library dressed in a button down, lanyard around his neck, and equipped with an over-the-shoulder laptop case; Bianca was decked out in comic book sneakers and a Thor helmet (lol). A few mutual friends were confused why John was dressed the way he was and not in camo print, but Bianca got the joke immediately and said, "Oh my gosh, you're camouflaged as a teacher!" Safe to say, we've always just kinda got each other. We were fast friends, making each other laugh with bad puns and corny jokes on the way to track meets, John showing Bianca all the board games and movies she never heard of and Bianca teaching John all about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We went from Masuk to UConn, enjoying late-night Wally's and Wings Over meals, meeting new friends, and graduating together in 2018. Post-grad, we decided to check off a bucket list item by moving to Boston! Here in the city we play in social sports leagues with friends, make trips to the North End for pasta and pastries (we can never say no to a cannoli), host game nights for friends, and cook plenty of meals together. From high school, college, Boston and beyond, we love being a part of each other’s lives for so long and can’t wait for our future together 🥰
Boston has been a second home for us since we moved here in 2019! John picked one of Bianca’s favorite spots in the city, the Boston Public Gardens, on their anniversary. We spent a day exploring the city, touring museums, and eating lots of great food before reaching the proposal spot (where Bianca’s sister Julia was hiding/disguised to take photos). John asked Bianca the easiest question she ever answered :)
We instantly could see our family and friends celebrating with us at Bill Miller’s Castle. The vintage feel and locally sourced elements (like windows from Yale, wood beams from the Merritt Parkway, and stone fireplaces) add up to a unique venue we can’t wait to say I do at — and dance the night away in!
