Like any modern love story, ours began with a swipe right! After chatting on Hinge for a month, John decided to take things to the next level and gave Baylee his phone number… only to accidentally give her the wrong number. Luckily, Baylee took a chance, changed the “714” area code to “713,” and reached the right John. The rest is history. At the time, John was about to begin his MBA program and Baylee had just completed her first year of medical school, both at Texas A&M. Our first date was drinks at the Stella Hotel in College Station, where we quickly discovered we were neighbors! While Baylee still proudly bleeds burnt orange, she's forever grateful that College Station brought her John. The first two years of our relationship have been filled with Aggie football games, MBA and med school social events, Spring Break in Destin, Fourth of July in Galveston, John's ring dunk and graduation, and visits to family in Colorado. We celebrated our one-year anniversary in Corpus Christi, and John got to meet her paternal side of the family. Fast forward to May 2025. Baylee had just finished all of her medical exams and John was about to start his first post-MBA job at Sempra Infrastructure in Houston. Before diving into work and long(ish)-distance life, we escaped to Lake Tahoe for a little getaway. We spent the week hiking, biking twelve miles through state beaches and parks, and eating our way through local foodie gems. At the end of the trip, John surprised Baylee with a private boat ride and proposed in Emerald Bay, the most scenic spot in Tahoe. We are so excited to start this next chapter of our lives with all of you in Cabo!
