Our engagement story

On October 27, 2024, I was SO surprised by the proposal, even though I thought I had it all figured out. Bryce had planned multiple dates throughout September and October, not revealing the details for any of them. On each of these dates, Bryce went to elaborate lengths to confuse me - he even had a fake ring box in his pocket for each date. Despite his tactics, I was convinced I figured out his plan: to propose on November 1st. I was so convinced of this, the night before we ACTUALLY got engaged, I was playing cards with Bryce and another couple, raving about how I had it all figured out. Little did I know, everyone in the room knew the proposal was happening very next day. Bryce created a plan with my mom to schedule “family photos” at Marblehead. I thought this was strange, but supposedly my mom wanted pictures of her family for Christmas. I had lots of questions regarding these photos, making it very difficult on them to keep the surprise, but somehow, they pulled it off! I think I would’ve been very suspicious of these family photos, but one of Bryce and I's best friends, Lily, (who I knew was helping Bryce plan) was in North Carolina for a wedding. I thought there was no way he would propose without her. Obviously, I was wrong. This was a part of the plan, to make sure I wouldn't see it coming. At Marblehead, Bryce was interested in looking through the viewing scope across Lake Erie. He told me how he could see people on the rides at Cedar Point. He insisted I look too. That was the perfect opportunity for him to get on one knee and propose when I turned around. I was so surprised, I think I blacked out the entire proposal. Nevertheless, Andrew and Bethany were there to take pictures of it all. After taking some photos, we headed back home, where our closest friends and family were waiting for an engagement party, making the day even more perfect.
