Embracing Love Again I have had a passion for helping hurting people all my life. As a result, I helped co-found Leadership Activating Ministry (LAMb) with, my sister (Ruby) and her husband (Lynn) and my husband Don. Almost 20 years ago, we established the work to aid widows and orphans in third world countries. When my husband passed in 2013, I developed an even stronger passion to help widows and widowers around me. Intimately aware of the trials and struggles of people dealing with loss, I branched out to assist the people around me get resources, make connections, and traverse the path of grief. When my sister, Caroline, mentioned she had a friend who had recently lost his wife and she wanted me to connect to see if I could provide encouragement, hope, suggestions for books, widow/widower groups, I readily agreed. In the beginning, I was an ear for Ian to express his feelings over the loss of Kris. He was also someone with whom I could discuss my feelings of loss. Ian and I spent many hours walking and talking, helping each other traverse the road of grief and renewed hope. We probably walked over 100 miles in those early days! Unexpectedly, we began to build a deep bond rooted in understanding the sense of grief. As the months passed, that bond became a friendship, a relationship and turned into love. That love brings us to today. We feel blessed and thankful to God for bringing us together, allowing us to embrace love again. We are thankful for this new beginning and are overjoyed to share it with each of you! Johanna
