Matron of Honor
Fate brought Olivia and Johanna together at the University of North Texas, where they both resided in Bruce Hall (the coolest and oldest dorm on campus). Johanna’s dorm was coincidentally placed in the same position as Olivia but one floor lower. One night filled with kismet energy and Olivia’s desire to host a Dance Dance Revolution party during Johanna’s chemistry midterm exams caused Johanna to “Karen” her way up to the 4th floor. Upon knocking the two met - and recognized each other from Young Democrats club on campus. Is there anything she can’t do? Dr. Olivia Wood is a champion Pokémon trainer, baker, crafter and all around wizard at the everything she touches. After working in Higher Education for many years she transitioned into project management for hospitals. She currently lives in shady shores with her husband John, his children and the world’s most beloved dachshund, Lucy.
Bridesmaid
The classic trope of "enemies to love" encapsulates our burgeoning beginning in the year of our lord 1997. Our mutual friendship was brokered through quiet whispers and inside jokes during Mr. Mills' computer science class (and a bowling alley birthday party sealed the deal in the summer of '99). Our shared love of humor and art has anchored our friendship through every stage of life. Donna is never one to shy away from a project no matter how last minute or wild in concept. A student of French and philosophy, as well as a J.D. from Southern Methodist University. She currently works for a law firm in Plano. A wife and mother to two beautiful and spirited children (almost the same exact ages as Johanna’s). She spends her spare time arguing with people on the internet and trying to coerce her husband into purchasing more chihuahuas. Johanna would certainly not be here today without her wisdom and friendship.
Bridesmaid
From the moment Johanna saw Beth’s beautiful red hair when she entered the band hall in 7th grade, she knew they were destined to be friends. Both played the flute (some better than others – clearly Beth) and were avid readers (some more avid that others – also clearly Beth). Beth’s loyalty and compassion is unmatched. It is a rare quality to find someone who offers friendship without judgement. Beth is a math professor in Plano (she has even formerly worked with Johanna’s father – also a math teacher). She lives with her husband and two children in Allen. They frequently go on camping/hiking adventures.
Bridesmaid
Johanna has known Lorna her whole life. She was born the youngest of three cousins in the Whitten family. A dual citizen of both Mexico and the United States, a student of nature, capturer of beauty and truth. They are lucky to be the type of relatives who both like and love each other.
Best Man
Scott’s only sibling, Nathan followed in our father’s footsteps to become a doctor. Along with wife Audrey, they are parents to Scott’s 1-year-old nephew Aiden. Scott and Nate grew up making up various sports/games to play, traveling on family road trips, and staging impromptu rock concerts with tennis rackets as guitars. After several years calling various other parts of the country home, we’re so glad they’re back here with us in DFW.
Groomsman
This one goes waaay back, all the way to kindergarten. Since then we’ve gone on many trips together, shared soccer fields and classrooms, jammed on drums and guitar, and spent countless hours at the old Webb house just hanging out. Steven is now a doctor in Austin, married to Katie, with two adorable kids.

Matt and Scott met at our dodgeball league, and became fast friends, sharing a passion for working out. Matt is one of the most selfless people I’ve ever known, and there’s nothing we wouldn’t do for each other. He’s the glue in our close friends group “The Boys”. You can often find him gaming, and hanging out with his dog Zeus.
Groomsman
Kevin and Scott also met in dodgeball. Another of The Boys, he is always upbeat and quick to laugh, with a sense of humor that Scott really relates to. Kevin is never afraid to do his own thing, which makes for some hilarious stories. Now living in Dallas, he is also quite the poker and blackjack prodigy.
Officiant
Jose and Scott also met, where else, at dodgeball. Jose fills out The Boys group with an infectious laugh and spirit. Although he lives in Dallas, legend says that if you click your heels and say “Bottle Service” three times, he will magically appear. Don’t let the charisma fool you, Jose is the hardest worker I know. He has played ringleader for summer Las Vegas trips for many years, and we’re so happy to have him officiating our wedding.
