Like any large city (even those in the United States), there is crime that can happen in Bogotà. No matter where you are, it is recommended to use good judgment and take basic safety precautions. Fortunately, the vast majority of the crime that does happen is petty theft - there is really no need to worry about anything beyond that. This city is no stranger to tourists and most enjoy the city with no problems!
