Written by JD: Our first official date was at a Lazy Dog restaurant in the middle of May in 2021. We were acquainted a few weeks prior on the dating site Match.com. We hit it off really well and we had several dates over the course of a month. It wasn’t until our third date at an outdoor Muppet movie that I kissed her for real and I instantly fell in love. After a handful of dates I finally built up the courage to ask her out on her birthday the following month. She agreed and I was over the moon happy…the rest is history! Finally when we went to church on the 4th date I saw that his Bible was all used with a lot of notes, then we sang worship songs together and he knew all the words! The proposal was several months in the making. Initially I wanted to propose to her at Disneyland on Splash Mountain...but another opportunity presented itself. A friend/client of Johana was getting married in Cancun at the end of the year. Before the big trip, I was given a blessing by her family and their approval on the ring. December came along and the big day finally arrived. I popped the question at a fancy restaurant at a 5 star resort in Cancun, Mexico. She said YES before I even had the chance to ask her.
