Through a mutual friend, Sarah was introduced to the "Folly Crew," Joey's longtime friends group in Charleston. Joey and Sarah never happen to be at the same place at the same time until one night at the Barrel. Friends were surprised to see the two meet for the first time, and even more surprised to witness an immediate connection. A few weeks later, Joey and Sarah went on their first date to Indaco where they discovered a shared love for independence and serial hobbies. Both agreed they need space in a relationship to do their own thing. Funny enough, the two have been inseparable ever since.
Sarah thought she was having a girls weekend in Asheville, North Carolina. On Saturday, the girls set out to hike Mount Mitchell, the tallest peak east of the Mississippi. After a long and treacherous hike in the pouring rain, they finally reached the summit. Sarah, in her own world, didn't even notice Joey standing on the observation deck. By the time she saw him, Joey was down on one knee, popped the question, and she said yes! Joey had another surprise up his sleeve - their siblings traveled far and wide to be there for the proposal. That night, the whole crew celebrated their engagement in a magical mountain house with fairy gardens, secret rooms, and a slide in the dining room.
