It was March 9th, 2023, ladies' night at Whiskey Barron. I was about to call my Uber to head home with my brother, when all of a sudden a girl approached me. She asked a few questions and then told me, “I have your queen for you." Curious, I asked her to bring this "queen" over, but she insisted, "No, you have to come to her." So, we made our way toward her friends, and that’s when I saw her — a group of girls, but one stood out, her eyes locking with mine. She had these stunning brown eyes, and beautiful bright smile and in that moment, I realized she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Trying to keep my cool, I finally gathered the nerve to ask if she wanted to talk. To my surprise, we hit it off immediately. I learned she was a Chargers fan and loved to snowboard — things I never expected but definitely made me even more intrigued. I asked her to dance, and she was so easygoing and graceful, it felt like we had known each other forever. But eventually, it was time for me to leave, and as hard as it was to walk away, I got her number, and well, the rest is history.
It was March 9th, 2023, and I was out with my friends at Whiskey Barron when I met Joey. He walked in across the room, and I couldn’t take my eyes off him. He was so handsome, I immediately got nervous. I wanted to go up to him, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. That’s when my best friend Angelica stepped in. “I’ll go talk to him for you,” she said. I felt a wave of anxiety rush over me as she walked away, but I couldn’t help but be excited. Angelica approached him, introduced herself, and then said, “I found your queen for you.” He looked at her, intrigued with a huge smile on his face. “Where? Bring her to me." Angelica just laughed and shook her head. “Nope, come with me.” And with that, Joey walked right over to me. I couldn’t stop smiling. We immediately clicked—there was this effortless chemistry between us. Turns out, we were both Chargers fans, which was a perfect icebreaker. We talked about snowboarding and realized that we had so much in common, and then, later that night, he asked me to dance. Looking back, I’m so thankful for that night and for country dancing. If it weren’t for that place, I never would have met Joey—the love of my life.
