We’re so excited to celebrate with everyone coming in from out of town! We put together this page with some of our favorite local places to eat so you can enjoy some great food while you’re here. These are restaurants and spots we personally love and recommend, and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Joey’s Pick: Chianti Restaurant

A classic Italian restaurant that offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere with an elevated yet relaxed dining experience. Joey loves the Chicken Marsala’s cozy flavors, making it an ideal place for a calm and enjoyable sit-down dinner.

Nohad’s Pick: Diane's Place

117 14th Avenue Northeast, Minneapolis, MN 55413

A highly regarded bakery and restaurant by Chef Diane Moua, offering Hmong-American cuisine and pastries. It is a meaningful spot for brunch or a slower, more intentional meal. Nohad loves their brunch menu for its versatility and complex flavors. Some of her favorites are the Thai Tea French Toast and Calamansi Raspberry Danishes.

Our Spot: Akita Sushi

779 Bielenberg Drive, Woodbury, MN 55125

Our go-to spot in Woodbury and easily one of our favorite places together. The staff probably got sick of seeing us at some point. Big shoutout to Jad for the original plug that started it all, and shoutout Katie and Tyler for expanding our cult. We are obsessed with their all you can eat, and their gyozas are genuinely addictive. It will always be part of our story.

Baba's Hummus House & Mana'eesh Bakery

2220 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55405

A contemporary Palestinian restaurant featuring hummus bowls, flatbreads, and shareable dishes. The menu is designed for a relaxed and communal dining experience. Our favorites are the Palestinian Platter, Cheese Mana’ish, and the Pistachio Latte.

CURRY CORNER Indian Eatery & Bar

201 East Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55414

An Indian restaurant known for its comforting and flavorful curry dishes. It is a casual and welcoming spot that is ideal for a relaxed lunch or dinner with a variety of traditional options. Our favorites are the Butter Chicken Samosas, Paneer Makhani, and Chicken Tikka Masala.

Jax Cafe

1928 University Avenue Northeast, Minneapolis, MN 55418

A longstanding Minneapolis restaurant known for its classic steakhouse setting and traditional service. It is a fitting choice for a more formal or celebratory dinner, and their patio is beautiful. Our favorites are: their signature Pierogis, New England Lobster Rolls, and Walleye Pike.

Lu's Sandwiches

A popular Eat Street restaurant known for its fresh sandwiches and bold Vietnamese flavors. It is one of our preferred spots for a casual and satisfying lunch together. Our favorites are their Banh Mi sandwiches.

Marty's Deli

400 Northeast Lowry Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55418

A modern Minneapolis deli known for fresh sandwiches and a simple, elevated approach to casual food. We enjoy it for its straightforward menu, homemade focaccia bread, and progressive and welcoming atmosphere, making it a favorite for a quick breakfast or lunch in the city. You can’t go wrong with any of their breakfast sandwiches or the Pool and Yacht sandwich.
