We met in high school and quickly became friends. Just two people who shared a love for music, a good laugh and more inside jokes than we could count. Although, it wasn’t until we started playing on the same indoor soccer team that I really got to know Kay. I would pick her up for every game and somewhere between those drives, late-night talks and post-game playlists, something started to shift. What was once just a great friendship slowly started to feel like something more. Then came the night that changed everything. I asked her to see one of our favorite bands at the time, Bastille, in concert. It felt like another shared adventure, but when Pompeii echoed through the crowd and we sang “but if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?”. Everything changed. That concert marked the beginning of something unforgettable. Over ten years later, we’ve built a life grounded in that same feeling of comfort and connection. We now live in my childhood home, made our own with love, laughter and our dog Schmitt, who thinks he runs the place (and he’s mostly right). Sundays are for the New York Times Crosswords, weeknights often turn into Scrabble showdowns, and we never miss a chance to dominate a local trivia night. Music still fills our lives, just as it did in the beginning. And with every passing year, our love only deepens, rooted in friendship, strengthened by time and guided by the joy of simply being together. Throughout it all, we’ve been incredibly lucky to have friends and family who believe in us, support us and love us through every step of our journey. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
