It all started with a spontaneous happy hour at North Italia… and a little bit of fate. One of Jessica’s best friends remembered a cute guy working there and convinced her to go out for happy hour. Shoutout to Chels for doing the Lord’s work that night, because sure enough, Joey happened to be working there, and within minutes, the two were completely locked into conversation. By the end of the night, Joey asked for Jessica’s number. Even in a world full of dating apps, both Joey and Jessica always believed they would meet their person naturally, in everyday life. From the very beginning, their story felt like exactly the kind of connection they had always hoped for. Although they clicked immediately, Joey spent the next month texting and FaceTiming Jessica while traveling constantly for work before finally asking her on a real date. Between constant work travel and questionable timing, he eventually realized he needed to make a move before he blew his chance. So on a random Monday (March 20th, 2023), Joey spontaneously called off work to take Jessica out. Fast forward exactly three years later to the day, Joey brought Jessica back to Sixty Vines, where they had their very first date. After dinner, he took her to the Dallas bridge overlooking the skyline and proposed — a place that had quietly become part of their story. Exactly eight years earlier, Jessica had moved to Dallas from Chicago. Just a few months later, Joey moved there from Pennsylvania. Neither of them could have imagined that ending up in the same city would eventually lead them to each other. Somehow, March became woven into their story from the very beginning. Jessica moved to Dallas in March. Their first date was in March. Joey proposed exactly three years later in March. And now, they’ll be getting married in March. Turns out, fate had a pretty good plan all along.
