They met at AJs Uptown Bar and Grill in Berrien Springs. Jess worked there as a waitress and Joey liked to come into the bar on Wednesday’s for “Wing Night”. Jess knew she had to meet the handsome guy that caught her eye and come to find out they had a few mutual friends. Jess found Joey online and sent him a message. A few days later he returned her message, they decided to meet and the rest is history. Four years later, two fur babies and countless days of laughter they love each other more and more everyday.
Joey sought out family and friends to help him stage what was supposed to be a casual evening BBQ for friends and family. Earlier that morning Joey set out to purchase the perfect ring. By chance, the first store he went to was not yet open so he decided to browse the rings at another store. While he was looking at rings he met an older gentleman and struck up a conversation with the man. The man proceeded to give Joey some advice. He told Joey to always remember to “Love your wife like Jesus loved the church”. The old man was a pastor. It was a chance meeting that was a sign. Later that evening, Joey surprised Jessica when he kneeled on one knee, opened the ring box and never said a word. Jessica saw the ring and immediately yelled “Yes!”. It was the easiest proposal that any man ever had to plan. Before the end of the night, and after many photo opportunities with the ring, Joey finally got to ask her to marry him and she said yes (again)!
