How We Met

August 2017

We met each other for the first time on our first day as Churchome college students. Joey had just moved from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Seattle to start an internship at our church. We can both remember the first day like it was yesterday. All the interns met in downtown Seattle at Pike Place Market to explore and get to know each other. Joey and I were immediately drawn to one another and I can just remember wanting to be around him all the time. He had this fun, super outgoing charisma about him and I wanted to know more. As time progressed we started hanging out more and getting to know each other deeper. We would constantly find ourselves talking about life, Jesus, our dreams and goals and eventually each other. We realized very quickly that we have the most fun with each other and that life is way better with the other person. We make each other laugh more than anyone and want to spend any moment that we can together. We couldn't be more excited to get married and continue this journey full of love, laughter, and joy!!!!

Proposal

December 20, 2019

It was the biggest surprise of the year for Erin. I had it all planned out and convinced Erin weeks prior that it wouldn't happen until the new year. My mom and sisters were in town to visit family before the holidays and the night of the proposal, the ladies went to get their nails done while I was supposedly "at work". The ladies planned to get dinner after getting their nails done but when they left the nail salon, Julia had them make a detour and go down to the waterfront. As they approached the waterfront, there I was under a lit up gazebo with a pathway of roses. At this point it became very clear what was happening. I walked out to meet Erin where she stood frozen and in shock, then we walked down a candle lit path to the center of the gazebo. I shared my heart and affection towards Erin, then next thing you know there was a ring on her finger. We shared a brief, beautiful moment together before our families and friends came out of their hiding places to scream and congratulate us. It was a night we will never forget!
