On January 9, 2022, our lives changed forever. Joey and I matched on Hinge, a popular dating app. After texting for a couple of days, we finally met in-person at the Puttery in Charlotte, a mini-golf course/bar. After meeting for the first time, we went into the Puttery and Joey checked in with the hostess and said "Hi, I have a reservation for Joe Vitale." I'm standing behind him and thinking to myself, 'there is no way...' I then blurt out when he was done checking in, "did you just say your last name was Vitale? My last name is Vitulli!" We both started laughing and could not get over that this coincidence was real. We then proceed to start our first round of mini golf with some drinks, and I actually beat him! (Later in our relationship, I found out that I cheated the whole time, but he didn't say anything about it... what a good man). We really were hitting it off and had such good conversation mostly because we have similar backgrounds - both being Jewish and Italian, frequently vacationing in South Florida, and me being from Atlanta, which I later find out that Joey is the biggest Georgia fan ever. In midst of our non-stop conversation, we then proceed to steal some half-eaten cake off the table next to us! That's when I knew this was something. We were so comfortable with each other from the beginning and didn't want the night to end so we went to Hawkers and got some late-night Asian food. This was the best first date possible. It felt like we had known each other forever! I knew that this was unlike anything I had experienced before. It was meant to be, and he was everything I was looking for and needed.
