Question

What about Covid?

Answer

While we feel really lucky to be getting married during a time that Covid is much more manageable in our communities than in recent years, it's still around! Some of our guests have higher levels of vulnerability, including loved ones with cancer or very young children at home, and we want to help them feel as comfortable as possible. Although we won't be individually checking on the precautionary steps people have taken, it would mean a lot to us if our guests are vaccinated and/or take a Covid test before attending the wedding. Let us know if you need an at-home test in Boulder, and we'll be more than happy to get one to you.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail/semi-formal. Dark and light suits with and without ties, short and long cocktail dresses, and dressy jumpsuits or separates are all lovely and appropriate. Tuxedos and formal evening gowns are overkill ;) Think fun, fancy-ish summer garden party in the mountains! The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors on grass and gravel. Please, no stiletto heels!

Question

How should I get to the wedding?

Answer

There is ample parking at the venue. Feel free to drive yourself, if you like. Please drive responsibly! Overnight parking is discouraged, and cars left overnight at the venue must be picked up by 9am Sunday morning. If you are staying in Boulder, a shuttle will depart from the Marriott at 3pm and depart from the venue at 10pm. If you are not staying at the Marriott, you are still more than welcome to join the shuttle. Please indicate on your RSVP card if you plan to take the shuttle so that there is enough space for everyone. Cabs and ride-shares can be taken to the venue, but should be scheduled in advance. Service can be spotty at Planet Bluegrass. See this page for instructions on scheduling a Lyft: https://help.lyft.com/hc/e/articles/115013078668-Scheduled-rides-for-passengers

Question

What’s the deal with altitude?

Answer

Both Boulder and Lyons have an altitude of about 5,300 feet. Coming to high altitude from lower altitudes can sometimes cause headaches, tiredness, or nausea. Make sure to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drinking lots of water is the most helpful thing you can do. Taking ibuprofen and getting plenty of sleep are also great. When out in the sun, wear sunscreen, as the sun is stronger at higher elevation. And if you're drinking, expect to get tipsier faster!

Question

What will the ceremony be like?

Answer

We have so enjoyed working with our officiants to create a welcoming wedding ceremony that joyfully reflects both of our families' religious traditions. Our ceremony will incorporate elements of traditional Jewish and Christian wedding practices, and we hope that you find it comfortable and easy to participate. Our officiants will take care to explain different elements of the ceremony, and we will also point out ceremony elements on the program so that you can follow along.

Question

You didn’t ask what entree I want on the RSVP card. What will we be eating?

Answer

Dishes will be served family-style, with plenty of options for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. Please do mention on your RSVP card if you have more specific dietary restrictions like being vegan or gluten-free or if you have allergies.
