We're not saying you should go to Staten Island, but the ferry ride to SI and back is great! This ride gives you some of the best views of the Financial District and the Statue of Liberty. And it's FREE!
This is a small, very kid friendly zoo. Do not sleep on the petting zoo! Bring your quarters to buy some kibble for the animals. As we write this the cafeteria is still closed, so you will need to pack a lunch or snacks.
A park within a park! This place transports you out of the city. This Botanical Garden is well known for it's Japanese gardens, and Greenhouses.
Take a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge! The full walk across the bridge is just over a mile.
In Caroline's opinion, Jacque Torres has the best chocolate chip cookies in NYC! Grab some cookies to go, and take in the view at Brooklyn Bridge Park which is a couple blocks away. Almondine just across the street is a great place to get lunch if you want to extend your time in the neighborhood.
