Dating back to 2015, Rafael and Joely officially met in their choir class. Sharing the same love for music and having so many similarities, they quickly fell in love with each other.

Being teenagers with no money, all they could afford was ice cream. With many trips to Baskin Robins, Rafael and Joely spent hours laughing and sharing memories with each other over a nice ice cream date.

After officially hitting 6 years being together, Rafael felt is ready to propose (it wasn't like everyone in the family wanted them married already...). Taking a trip to Monterey, Rafael and Joely had a nice dinner and took a stroll through the Wharf. Finding the perfect spot that provided privacy, Rafael forgot to get down on his knee and felt it was best to propose standing. After some good laughs, Joely of course said yes!
