The Lord led me to Joe Kane on the night of January 15, 2023, at a party at Siena Heights University, where we both went to college. As small as Siena was, I had never seen or heard of Joe, and the same was true for him. I walked into this party (that I didn't even want to go to and that my roommate, Liz, practically dragged me to), and there was Joe. As soon as I walked in, we immediately made eye contact. Joe did a double take and just kept staring at me. As corny as it sounds, I never believed in love at first sight until I met Joe. I looked at Liz and told her we had to go talk to Brayden Hill, who Joe happened to be hanging out with that night. Liz didn't ask any questions and came with me. That's when I met Joe for the first time. He was wearing a Cincinnati Reds jersey, and this is where you can tell he was nervous because he proceeded to tell me that the Reds were from Indiana. He's a baseball player, and I'm from Ohio, so I knew immediately that wasn't right. Joe ended up taking my friends and me home that night, and I invited him and his friend to hang out with us for a little while. When Joe and his friend left, I immediately followed him on Instagram. Brayden later told me that Joe screamed when he got the notification. Brayden gave him my number and our first date was ice cream at the Spotted Cow in Adrian, MI. Needless to say, that night was one of the most important and special nights of our lives. The rest is history, and now we're getting married. Joe and I knew very early on that we were each other's forever person. We are truly best friends and do everything together. We had both always prayed for a love like this—a simple life and a simple love. Everything has felt easy from day one. The Lord has always been at the center of it all, and we can't imagine our lives any differently. We are SO excited to enter this next chapter together. The Lord has been so faithful, and we are incredibly grateful for the life He has given us. We are also so grateful that you are part of our lives, and we can't wait to celebrate with you. I always tell Joe that our wedding day is the one day in our entire lives when we get to have all of our favorite people under one roof, celebrating the love we've found. It's always been us.
