Maid of Honor
Hope Pavela has been Joelle’s best friend for 14+ years and is now her maid of honor. They met in 9th grade during summer volleyball. They quickly realized they both shared the same obsession of One Tree Hill and Zac Efron. they spent many hours watching One Tree Hill together. Hope is known around La Crosse for her ice skating prowess. She probably still holds some records at Green Island Ice Arena. Hope currently resides in the wonderful state of Colorado (which Joelle loves to visit!) and is easily the most fashionable person Joelle knows. She once wore a furry jacket down town La Crosse while visiting (before they were cool). If you see Hope at the wedding, ask her about triple axels, how many hats she owns, or if she ever did her own Spanish homework.
Best Man
Mitchell is Ryan's younger brother. He is also Kevin and Lisa's favorite child. Like Ryan, Mitchell loves of all things Wisconsin sports... despite his alliances to various other teams in his childhood. Mitchell once threw a Hail Mary to win a high school football game, so he rides the luck he felt in that moment to the slot machines whenever he can. He's never lost money gambling... He only wins. Mitchell also considers himself lucky to have bonded with his brother in a variety of ways throughout their childhood. One of his fondest memories is when he would play catch and throw ground balls to his brother while Ryan was sitting on the toilet. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: the city of Nekoosa, paper mills, or missing multiple deer in the same hunting season.
Bridesmaid
Laura Grana, formerly known as Laura Albrecht, has been one of Joelle’s best friends since middle school when they balled it up on the Junior Knights basketball team. Joelle was always in awe of Laura because she was a true country girl (countrygirl202 to be exact). Over the years, Laura and Joelle had lots of fun talking about boys, getting ready to watch boys play sports, and making fun of Hope. Laura is one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. If you see Laura out on a dance floor, join right in and ask her about country livin in Nodine, MN or if it’s safe to defrost your windshield using just your wipers.
Groomsman
Alex is one of Ryan's closest friends, although they enjoy pretending that they are enemies. Alex and Ryan met as young members of what is now Wagner Hill Lodge LLC. Alex's dad, Whitey, was like a second father to Ryan, and their mutual love for him has allowed them to grow closer as the years have passed. Alex is one of the best Phy Ed Teachers in Wisconsin. He can throw a kickball out with the best of them. The only thing more shallow than his hairline is that he has chosen to force his sons to be Minnesota Vikings fans. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: non-typical whitetails, summer functions, or his sweatpant collection.
Bridesmaid
Alli Seitz has been in Joelle’s life since kindergarten. She holds the coveted award of being Joelle’s first best friend and first sleepover. Over the years they spent lots of time playing Barbies, watching MTV and being obsessed with Sims. They attended different high schools but the bond remained strong. You may never get a permanent address from Alli but you know she'll always be there if you need her. Joelle’s favorite thing about Alli though is that she is a trendsetter. She once cut her own bangs in kindergarten…sadly no one jumped on that trend. If you see Alli, make sure to ask her about her Herbst device, the pool table at Top Shots, or Sims cheat codes.
Groomsman
Nobody knows who Tyler is, but Vons is one of Ryan's best friends. In the early years, Ryan and Vons prided themselves on being the greatest freshman football coaching duo in the midwest. Ryan once dreamed of entering into a partnership with Vons and becoming Ryan Von Schreiner, but that dream faded after they lived together for three straight years and almost killed one another. Vons is from Tomah, so he prides himself as a semi-professional drinker. He can also drive a golf ball a long ways. If you see him at the wedding and want to attempt to understand his mumbling speech, consider asking him about: being a Co-Head Wrestling Coach, gambling addiction, or showing pigs in Monroe County.
Bridesmaid
Amy Korger is proof that Nathan Korger is a smart man. Amy has been in Joelle’s life since Nathan (Joelle's cousin) brought her to a family function 12 years ago. Amy’s a true northsider like Joelle and that’s probably why they became close so quick. It's hard to remember a time that she wasn't part of the Korger family. Over the years they have spent lots of time hanging out and going for walks and early morning bike rides and ordering Toppers at 2AM only to never eat it. Joelle is thankful that she found Ryan so that Amy doesn't have to try and set her up anymore. If you see Amy ask her about skin extractions, remodeling her house, or being a Logan Ranger.
Groomsman
Dan Adler is a POS. We apologize for the foul language, but it doesn't take very long after you meet him to know it's true. Unfortunately, he is still one of Ryan's best friends. Dan and Ryan met coaching freshman football at Logan. It didn't take long to figure out that Dan was different. He was obsessed with gambling on off-shore daily fantasy platforms and a feisty girl named Darian from Winona State. Ryan had the privilege of officiating their wedding a couple of years ago. One nice thing we can say about Dan is that nobody can ever doubt his loyalty as a friend. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: why his dog is overweight, Green Bay Packer podcasts, and why he makes odd clapping motions with his hands.
Bridesmaid
Winnie Jaworski…where do I begin. Easily the best former barista in Winona. She is the friend Joelle needed to meet at that point in life. They quickly bonded over their similar sense of humor, obsession of Scandal, and sushi. Winnie is married to a neat guy named Craig who was once part of a really good band. This gives Winnie some extra street credit. Nonetheless, Winnie is one of those people you just feel lucky to know. If you see her whipping it up on the dance floor to some Blink182, just join right in. Later on, ask her if she’ll make you an iced blended latte frappe.
Groomsman
Chris and Ryan met on the baseball field at Viterbo University, but their time as collegiate athletes was not very long. Instead, Chris and Ryan found connections in other places. Chris attended Chippewa Falls McDonnell High School, Ryan's Dad's alma mater, and lived just up the road from Ryan's grandparents in Tilden. At that point, their friendship was innevitable, so they signed a lease and became roommates. Chris studied hard in college. He's a smart guy. He's offering up free 30 minute physical therapy sessions from 5-11pm outside the barn on the day of the wedding. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: the song titled "Texas Tornado", a guy named Cheeto, or day bed mattresses.
Bridesmaid
Brooke Gardner and Joelle had an interesting start to their friendship. They met at a bonfire party their freshman year of college. Brooke rescued Joelle from said party because the person who brought her left without her. Throughout their years at Winona State, they spent lots of time doing things most college students do…studying. Brooke is now a therapist at Gundersen and has selflessly brought some of those skills into her friendship when needed. Fun fact: Brooke encouraged Joelle to swipe right on Ryan while she was at her house. If you see Brooke at the wedding, ask her about her dog Camp, National Parks Great Adventure, or her list of food allergies.
Groomsman
Sam Zwieg is a legend. The list of accomplishments is long, but how many people do you know that can say they are a baby goose, college football star, and a model for the Wisconsin Education Association Council? Needless to say, Ryan was honored when Sam asked to be his roommate after he bought his house in 2019. In that year, Ryan learned a lot about Sam. Sam is one of the most generous, kind-hearted, go-with-the-flow guys you'll ever meet. Both teachers at Logan, Ryan knows he'll always get a good laugh seeing Sam on a daily basis. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: trips to Iowa, Fleischmann's Vodka, or Tarek Yaeggi.
Bridesmaid
Leah Justin is the first friend Joelle ever made. They spent their years at Mt. Calvary-Grace obsessing over boys (sometimes the same one), almost winning the annual lip sync contest, and dominating in basketball. As adults, they have picked different hobbies to enjoy together like molding young minds and running marathons. If you’ve been friends with someone for a quarter century, it’s pretty safe to say you’ll be friends for life. If you see Leah, some great conversation starters would be sight words, Hallmark Christmas movies, or dating your high school sweetheart.
Groomsman
Jelinski and Ryan have been friends for years, dating back to when Ryan was a parking cop and Jeli was a new officer for the City of La Crosse. Ryan got asked by Yanger to play on the PD's softball team on Wednesday nights, and he met Jelinski... It was love at first sight. Since that day, Jelinski has broken both ankles (twice), torn both ACLs, and had his ego crushed every time he plays softball with Ryan while realizing again and again that he's just not as good as him. Jelinski is one of the good guys. He's so easy to talk to, and he'll put a smile on your face. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: his spikeball strategies, ex-girlfriends, and eating for free at Tom Sawyers.
Bridesmaid
Jessie Kish has also been one of Joelle’s friends since they were wee little lassies in kindergarten. Jessie’s friendship has been full of three things: laughter, food, and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Over the years Jessie has been a very reliable friend. Joelle could always count on her to tell her to suck it up (like when she didn’t want to play basketball in her face mask) or bike with her to Fiesta Mexicana for fried ice cream. If you see Jessie, be sure to ask her about her cat, chicken puffs, or what it was like to be a Jazzy J.
Groomsman
Ryan and Josh weren't always friends. Growing up, Josh liked to constantly remind Ryan how fat he thought he was. It took a while, but Ryan finally got over himself and realized that Josh was one of his best buddies. Today, Josh is a man of the people. He's a public official. Nobody really knows if he'll show up to the wedding because he might get a call from the Mayor, the Governor, heck, maybe the President. Even if he doesn't show up, Josh is one of those guys that you can go weeks without seeing, but when you meet up it's like you saw him yesterday. He'll always have a quick-witted comment to make you laugh. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: how to successfully execute a head throw, Kirk Cousins, or PFAS Water Contamination.
Honor Attendant
Molly Hoffman is dating Mitchell Schreiner but that’s the least interesting thing about her. Molly is a registered dietitian and makes a mean cranberry Moscow mule. Joelle was really excited after meeting Molly and knew they would become good friends. They share a love of coffee, the outdoors, and eating yummy food. Molly is also a really good aunt to Ryan & Joelle’s dog Nala. If you see Molly at the wedding ask her the correct way to spell dietitian, how to play euchre, or to name five Packers.
Groomsman
Nolan is Joelle's brother. There is a pretty good chance that Nolan is late to the ceremony, but ultimately, the newlyweds simply hope that he decides to show up. If he isn't in attendance, you can bank on the fact that he chose to go "get a lift in" an hour before the wedding or is bellied up at Del's Bar. Nolan is not only good at being late, but he also claims to be a very good baker. The only problem is... nobody really knows if this is true because he rarely brings a dessert to share the few times he makes it to Sunday dinner. All of these things make Nolan the special person that he is, and Joelle and Ryan are lucky to have him as a brother. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: Del's Bar, our dog Nala, or eating spaghetti with his hands.
Usher
Jake has become one of Ryan's good friends over the last couple years, which is great, because nobody really cares to hang out with him... but everyone loves his wife, Danica. Ryan and Jake have created a special bond over deer hunting and lease land together. The two spend hours each fall talking on the phone about wind direction, if they should hunt the bowl or the ridge, and all of the deer that Ryan shoots vs the ones Jake misses. Years ago, Jake and Ryan ran the Teen Center at the Boys and Girls Club together. Jake once gave Ryan a signed picture of himself, and it is still one of Ryan's most cherished gifts... even if he doesn't know where it is. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: his gun collection, the buck he missed this fall, or speaking German to dogs.
Usher
Landon Bresina is the smartest guys in the room, just ask him. Landon is also a member of what is now called Wagner Hill Lodge LLC, although you wouldn't know it, because he rarely comes to the cabin. The only evidence of Landon in Birchwood is an odd stain on the floor, behind a chair, near the back patio door. Growing up, Ryan didn't really know how to feel about Landon. He was quick-witted, blunt, and confident. A couple years ago, Landon moved to La Crosse for work. Since that time, Ryan and Joelle and really enjoyed getting together with Landon and his girlfriend, Bradie. They've decided he's actually a really good guy and a great friend. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: his servant named Joe, being a model for a magazine, or why his dog's eye is so red.
Officiant
Tanner Pierzina is Lisa Schreiner's second favorite child. The order goes: 1. Mitchell 2. Tanner and 3. Ryan... When Ryan and Joelle thought about who they wanted to officiate their wedding, there was no doubt that they hoped it would be Tanner. Tanner is one of Mitchell's best friends, but he and Ryan share a special bond. Ryan is Tanner's "Childhood Hero". Every Octoberfest, Tanner shares his love and admiration for Ryan to anyone who is willing to listen. It's weird and somewhat disturbing. Ryan and Joelle would like to apologize in advance for any childhood memories Tanner shares during the ceremony. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: his cross country career, his dad's fantasy baseball team, or anything other than stories about his childhood hero.
Usher
Austin was a late addition to the wedding party, so you can view his presence as an offer of sympathy. At 6'5" tall, he will serve his role as "bouncer" very well on wedding day. Being tall means Austin used to be able to dunk a basketball. Austin has a framed picture of himself dunking a basketball in high school proudly hanging in the living room of his new home. Joelle considers Austin a second brother despite his egotistical nature. On top of that, Ryan and Austin have become very close over the last year to the point where Ryan couldn't picture not having Austin by his side on wedding day. If you see him at the wedding, consider asking him about: the oil industry, the band Divided Highway, or Jake Perner's pistol.
