On November 5, 2024, a nervous Josh asked Joelle on a first date. Little did he know that after advocating for her “red medicine” at their local First Watch, the rest would be history. Over the following months and year, we spent our time chasing sunsets, hiking, camping (Jo’s first time), exploring new places, celebrating friends’ weddings, building community, and encouraging each other to grow. We both sought to support each other’s dreams and goals - while staying aligned in our relationship and faith. I realized that her love for Christ, her family, her church, her community, myself, and so much more was enough for me to know I wanted to marry her. On a cool and windy March 7, 2026, I took Jo to Beauty Mountain Overlook in West Virginia, where I nervously asked her if she would spend forever with her goofy guy.
