His Version : The day that we first met was almost like a movie, where this pretty girl walks into the place you work and flips her hair and what not, looking all cute and you just have to figure out her name and hopefully get a number before she leaves. At that time, I was a manager upfront so I asked her if she needs any help, you know giving her that chick-fil-a hospitality. She said her name was Wilma and it was her first day on the job and came in early. I told her just to wait around the corner till she clocks in. I looked around and saw we weren’t busy so I decided to take a break, to get to know her better. I sat down at the table she was at and we talked for a bit and I gave her a couple of tips before she clocks in. Just crazy to me how that conversation lead to more and more :) Her Version : Joel and I met about 5-6 years ago , at a fast food restaurant called chick-fil-a! Walking into my first job ever , with nerves that didn’t allow me to think.. A boy in a mangers outfit approaches me welcoming me in, and asked if today was my first day on the job. I quickly replied with a simple , yes and kept looking around trying not to make “too much” eye contact with this cute guy who could be my boss😂 He offered me a drink and told me to sit down anywhere I would like until they were ready. A few minutes later that same manager came and sat down with me..who proceeded to tell me he was on a break. Which confused me , out of all the tables in the dinning room why sit next to me!? He didn’t even know me!? He began to insure me, that I had nothing to be nervous about & I was going do great. This man took the time to use his break, to insure me that everything was going to be okay; That I was going to do great and there was nothing to stress about. Little did I know it was going to be the first of many this man was going to be my peace in challenging storms.
His Version : The day I knew, I was coming back one Sunday after going to church with Wilma. All my life, I've had a great role model, my mom Lisa Moreno. Growing up as a kid you look up to your mom and to me she was the most beautiful women I knew. All the things she did that made me think one day the women I marry is going to be just like my her. Well Wilma and I have been dating for a while and everyday, hour and minute I spend with her she literally meets all the requirements, that I thought would be impossible to meet. She was caring, passionate about God, down to earth, a go getter and the list goes on. On that drive back home November 24th, I knew in my heart that she was the one for me. Her Version : I can tell you the exact date, I was in my parents house, sitting in the bathroom devastated of how I may “run Joel away”. A few years earlier I had made a promise to God and to myself, I wasn’t going to be in another relationship unless I knew he was “the one”. I would always have my speech ready, something along the lines of “I’m not looking for a relationship with anyone at the moment, just focusing on my relationship with lord. OF COURSE, that scares a lot of people away! (Everyone away) It became the best conversion ender in history. Until Mr. Joel Jr had asked me on a date.. I looked up and said “Here, we go..Ugh but I like him, this one I can hold it off right? He doesn’t have to know right away, Right, God? In my heart it was the right thing to do, however to my surprise, Joel was the only guy EVER, to reply with, “Oh! Wow, that’s amazing, I love that, no worries, I understand and respect that. So How’s your day going!?” My mouth dropped, excuse me!? Hows my day going!? Who are you!?
His Version : I had been talking to some of her friends, family & mine, I had bought a new lure that was in a shape of a heart that had “Your my greatest catch, will you marry me?” engraved in it. I decided to have my best friend & brother come take pictures in my parents backyard, since it had the lights hanging & water view which Wilma loves. The proposal was suppose to be during the evening but Wilma got stuck at work & it got super dark outside. All that waiting got me worked up & nervous & I was telling everyone I’m going to cry/choke up when I ask her. I’m a huge baby, for those who don't know me. Wilma gets to my parents house & she is ready to go eat & I have my rod in my hand & I tell her to come over & help me switch one of my lures out before we leave. It was a struggle to get her into place so the camera would catch her reaction. She grabs the lure, begins to read it, I get down on one knee..I choke up & barley spit out any words, so thankful for the lure, she wouldn’t have known what I was asking. She was in disbelief & said yes! Thank god she did. Her Version : Meeting Joel at his parents, before eating. I noticed Joel was little tense & on edge, but of course he reinsurers me everything‘s okay, playing it off! If you know me, I’m in love with water views & outdoor lighting. Walking to the backyard greeting his parents, I walk out to their gorgeous pond & patio lit up with beautiful lighting. All I could mention was how pretty it looked! Joel, trying to play it cool, mins later he calls me over, asked if I could help him change his lure on his rod! Confused in that moment not knowing where to start, he goes look at it! Its a new one I just bought! A rose gold heart, Turning it over, it read “Your my greatest catch, Marry me?” Time literally felt like it stopped, I turned around seeing Joel in one knee, telling me all that I have wished & prayed coming to life! Tears, happiness, smiles we couldn’t contain,& our journey was just beginning!
