🤍Long story short, we always say we met through Joel’s mom, but if you want more details, read on. After my foreign language congregation was dissolved in the summer of 2021, I went back to the Spanish circuit. I tried to make the best of my new circumstances and was eager to support my new congregation. It was still the pandemic during this time, and Joel’s mom had just become a widow. My family and I connected to the memorial talk for Joel’s dad. I remember seeing Joel for the first time that day. A few months later, in the spring of 2022, we were able to go back to meetings, but we had to wear masks. Joel came to the meeting with his mom; it was the first time meeting them in person. About a month later, his mom was not feeling well and asked me to come to her place because she wanted to go to the hospital. That day, she asked me to keep in communication with Joel, and that’s how we exchanged phone numbers. Shortly after, I received a card from Joel, thanking me for helping his mom when she needed it. I thought his handwriting was impressive and his card very thoughtful. Months went by; it was now the fall. One day I saw Joel’s status on WhatsApp about learning French, and I replied out of curiosity. That led to a conversation, and I think from there we would comment on each other’s statuses frequently until one day we made plans to hang out in February of 2023. In April, we hung out for the third time, and we decided we wanted to get to know each other. The picture below is when Joel asked me to be his girlfriend in Long Beach on August 18, 2023. On June 14, 2025, we got engaged in Laguna Beach. The rest is history in the making… Thank you for all your love and support in our little love story.
