The Powel Crosley Estate. It is a historic Mediterranean Revival-style mansion nestled along the picturesque shores of Sarasota Bay in Sarasota, Florida. Built in 1929 by renowned inventor and entrepreneur Powel Crosley Jr., the estate served as a winter residence for the Crosley family. Today, it stands as a testament to 1920s elegance and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Powel Crosley Estate is approximately 4 to 5 miles north of downtown Sarasota. Depending on traffic, the drive typically takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
We love to be casual most of the time, but for our wedding we are taking it up a notch! Think classy, sophisticated but down to earth and chill vibes. No black ties or floor length dresses necessary, but wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable!
Yes! The Powel Crosley is a one stop shop for our wedding day.
Weather permitting, the wedding will be outside on the waterfront lawn. There will always be the option of going inside the estate to cool off, use the restroom, or take in the beautiful mid century architecture.
January in Sarasota is typically very mild and pleasant with an average temperature around 62 degrees and low humidity. It can sometimes get cool at night, so feel free to bring a jacket just in case.
The Powel Crosley Estate is located about 1.3 miles from the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.
There are many hotels and Airbnbs in the surrounding area to choose from. We encourage you to choose the best option for you and your party. However, we have secured one hotel room block at The Sarasota Modern. This is where the bride and groom and their immediate families are staying. Please see the travel tab for the booking link.
