Madhuramveppu

4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

👗👕Go traditional or go vibrant — the choice is yours! Come dressed in elegant Kerala-style gold and white traditional outfits, or bring out your most colourful outfits to match the festive vibe.

We’re excited to celebrate the Madhuramveppu (pronounced as; mah-doo-rah-m-veh-poo), a treasured tradition from Kerala that translates to "offering sweets". It is a cherished tradition that marks the formal commencement of wedding festivities and the merging of two families. One of the sweetest parts—literally—is the ritual of feeding sweets to the bride and groom, symbolizing the love and sweetness that everyone wishes for our life ahead. It’s an expression of joy, good fortune, and the warmth of our community. This will be followed by some games so get your competitive side ready!

Roce

5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

After a quick outfit change by the wedding party, we will have the traditional Goan pre-wedding celebration of Roce. This is a cherished Goan pre-wedding tradition that marks the bride and groom's final blessing before marriage. Rooted in our Catholic heritage, this joyful celebration brings together family, laughter, music, and a lot of coconut milk! During the ceremony, coconut milk (or "roce") is gently applied to the bride and groom by their loved ones, a symbolic gesture of purification, blessing, and love. It's our version of a pre-wedding send-off, full of fun, Konkani songs, and heartfelt moments. Expect singing, dancing, delicious Goan food, and a relaxed, festive vibe as we celebrate with those closest to us.

After Party

8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Finally, we will wrap up the day with everyone on the dancefloor and expect some great dance moves from everyone present!

Wedding Mass

11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Formal Attire - Pastel shades preferable!

We are deeply honoured to begin our life together with a traditional Catholic wedding Mass at the Se Cathedral in Old Goa, one of India’s most historic and sacred churches. Built in the 16th century, this magnificent cathedral is a timeless symbol of faith, beauty, and heritage. Our ceremony will follow the solemn and graceful traditions of the Catholic nuptial Mass, enriched with elements from the Malankara Syrian Catholic rite, partly celebrated in Malayalam. In this tradition, the Thali, a blessed gold necklace, is tied around the bride’s neck by the groom, symbolizing an unbreakable bond and his lifelong commitment. The Manthrakodi, a silk sari draped over the bride’s head, signifies his acceptance, protection, and the blessings of a sacred union. Amidst scripture, song, and sacred vows, we will unite in love and faith, celebrating a coming together of not just two souls, but of two cultures: Goan and Keralite, each with its own rich spiritual heritage.

Rest and Relaxation
