Question

Limited parking - Trout Lake Hall

Answer

Please carpool if you can to insure we have enough parking for everyone.

Question

Is there a bridge toll between White Salmon, WA and Hood River, OR?

Answer

Yes! Currently it is $3.50 one way. It is possible that there will be construction on the Hood River Bridge. The alternate route is the Bridge of the Gods which crosses the Columbia River at Cascade Locks and provides a stunning view of the Columbia Gorge. This is also a toll bridge.

Question

What is contra dance?

Answer

Contra dancing is a lively, interactive folk dance where dancers form long lines and follow a series of fun and energetic moves to live music. The caller will make it easy for those of us who have never done this before!

Question

Is there something scheduled on Friday night?

Answer

Joel and Megan will be staying at the Inn of the White Salmon on Friday, June 19th. At this time, Friday will be unscheduled with informal social gathers and exploration of Hood River and White Salmon. There are lots of cafes and cantinas in both towns. The Inn of the White Salmon has a cozy outdoor garden in the back to socialize and enjoy a bottle of wine.

Question

Where can you eat in Trout Lake?

Answer

Restaurant options are very limited in Trout Lake. When Joel and Megan visit, we typically grab breakfast or lunch at the Station Cafe, grab snacks and sandwiches at Trout Lake General Store, and evening pizza at Mt. Adams Pizza across the street from the Trout Lake Valley Inn. Station Cafe also has wood fired pizza but they close early.

Question

Will we encounter deer on the road?

Answer

VERY LIKELY! Especially at dusk and later in the evening. Please be very careful driving at night along Highway 141 between Trout Lake and White Salmon. Joel recommends driving below the posted speed limit and being vigilant.

Question

Where is the gift registry?

Answer

No gifts! We'd love your themed attire at the party. If you would like to help with the Sunday cookout, let Joel or Megan know! On Sunday, we could use extra camp chairs, coolers & folding tables.

Question

Is there a possibility that I will be abducted by aliens at the Skywatch?

Answer

It depends on what you've been consuming! However, Joel has remained Earth-bound each of the hundred or more visits he has made to this special UFO hot spot. If you have ever seen Megan dance, you might think she IS an alien. Joel & Megan & our kids have many fond memories of the ECETI ranch (it's where we first met). We've made many amazing truth-seeking friends over the years who have similar curiosities, several of whom will be there at the party!

Question

Is alcohol permitted at the Skywatch?

Answer

No! No alcohol and no pets are permitted on the ranch property. Thank you for respecting the ranch owner's rules.

Question

Where can I take a dip in the Little White Salmon River?

Answer

Directly across the road from the entrance to the ECETI Ranch there is a great watering hole under the bridge. The water is frigid and the current can be swift. Strong swimmers only, and have a spotter. Ask Joel or Megan before checking it out. Joel loves this spot and has a ritual of a brief swim nearly every time he visits. He calls it Nature's Baptism.

Question

Will there be accommodations for food sensitivities?

Answer

We aim to have gluten-free and vegetarian options. Please let Megan or Joel know if anyone in your party has special needs.
