We first met through good friends and coworkers (Chris and Courtney McKelvie) in the summer of 2022. Courtney knew that Linnea was a sports fanatic and Joel was in the market for someone who would sit through all of his basketball games! We started officially dating in September of the same year. Through many basketball games, house projects, trips to Culver's, movies (that Joel usually picks and Linnea sleeps through), hikes, recruiting trips, etc., we quickly realized that we were in it for the long haul. After secretly scoping out a proposal spot on our 1-year anniversary (September 16) on a hike at Afton State Park—Joel officially popped the question on October 7th, 2023. We quickly jumped into Joel's basketball season amidst wedding planning and have been both excitedly and expectantly looking towards starting this new season of life together! We would love to tell you more sometime about how God has answered so many of our prayers in meeting each other.
