Things To Do

The Los Angeles area is full of near endless things to do, and October is typically one of the most beautiful times to visit! Here are some of our favorite options close to the wedding location in Pasadena. If you're looking for other recommendations around the rest of L.A., feel free to let us know :)

Old Town Pasadena

41 Hugus Aly, Pasadena, CA 91103

Old Town Pasadena is the center of dining, shopping, and community in Pasadena (and the neighborhood of our Welcome Dinner!) The address listed is for One Colorado, a pretty courtyard that features some of our favorite places, including Sage Plant-Based Bistro, Coffee and Plants (a cute and tasty coffee shop, and Kreation Organic Juicery.

The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens

1151 Oxford Road, San Marino, CA 91108

This beautiful location ranks on many lists of the best botanical gardens in the nation, and it just happens to be 10 minutes away from the wedding venue! Advance reservations are required but typically available even morning-of. Explore 130 acres of themed gardens, such as the desert garden, Japanese garden, and Chinese garden, along with art museum spaces and outdoor dining. If you have additional time in town, this is one of our top places to visit.

ArtNight Pasadena

This twice-yearly event is happening from 6pm-10pm on October 13th, the night of our welcome dinner! After dinner, enjoy free access to the city's top museums and cultural institutions. More info on their website.

Rose Bowl Stadium

1001 Rose Bowl Drive, Pasadena, CA 91103

The historic Rose Bowl Stadium, site of the yearly Rose Bowl Game, is just minutes from the wedding venue! When not hosting a game or special event, the park and paths around the stadium are open for walking, jogging, or biking. Heading over for a walk around the stadium is a great way to get outside and see Pasadena's most famous landmark. On October 15th, the day after our wedding, you could also attend Clásico de México, an exhibition soccer match and cultural festival at the stadium.

Local Hiking Trails

Pasadena sits at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains and is the home of some great hiking trails! Some of our favorites include the Lower Arroyo Park (easy trail at the base of the scenic Colorado Street Bridge and directly next to the wedding venue – 415 S Arroyo Blvd, Pasadena, CA), Millard Canyon (scenic canyon trail next to the NASA and CalTech-owned Jet Propulsion Laboratory – JPL Bridge, Explorer Rd, Altadena, CA), and the Eaton Canyon Falls Trail (follow the path of a stream up to a waterfall – 1750 N Altadena Dr, Pasadena, CA 91107).
