Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive between 4:00 to 4:15PM so you have time to find your seat and settle in. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30PM.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is formal attire. For women, this includes long gowns, elegant midi dresses, or sophisticated cocktail dresses. For men, we kindly request suits paired with crisp dress shirts, ties are optional - but highly encouraged in honor of a surprise Henderson family tradition. We can’t wait to see everyone dressed up and celebrating with us!

Is transportation provided from the hotel to the venue?

Answer

Yes! We are providing complimentary shuttle service to and from the venue, departing from the Hilton Garden Inn lobby. Shuttle to the Venue: Multiple trips will be made between 3:45 PM and 4:15 PM. Please note: The last shuttle departs the hotel at 4:15 PM. Shuttle returning to the Hotel: Return trips will run throughout the evening, starting at 9:30 PM, with the final shuttle leaving the venue at 10:30 PM. If you prefer to drive, there is a parking lot available at the venue. Please note that rideshare services (like Uber) can take a bit longer to arrive in this area, so plan accordingly.

May I bring a guest or plus-one?

We kindly ask that only those listed on your invitation attend. Thank you for understanding!

Are children invited?

Answer

Our celebration is adults only, with the exception of our flower girl and ring bearer. We appreciate you understanding!

What kind of setting can we expect for the ceremony and celebration?

Answer

The ceremony will be held outdoors, weather permitting. The cocktail hour will be a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, and the reception will take place indoors.

May I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We respectfully request that guests refrain from taking photos & using their devices during the ceremony to ensure an uninterrupted and intimate experience. You are welcome to take and share photos following the ceremony.

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

We recommend flying into Midway International Airport (MDW), as it is the closest major airport to Chesterton, IN. It is 55 miles west of the venue and approximately a 1.5 hour drive depending on the traffic. The South Bend Airport (SBN) is 50 miles east of the venue and under an hour drive - please account for the time change. The South Shore train line provides transportation from this airport.

Will there be a welcome party?

Answer

We will be hosting a private rehearsal dinner for immediate family and members of the wedding party. Invitations to attend will be indicated on your RSVP. If you plan to be in town on Friday night, we encourage you to visit the "Things To Do" tab & meet us out in downtown Valparaiso!

What if I fail to RSVP by the deadline?

Answer

Kindly note that if we do not receive your RSVP by 08/01/2026 we will assume you are unable to attend. While we will miss your presence, it is essential that we provide our vendors with a final guest count within their required timeframe. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
