We met on Bumble at the end of 2021, but it seems that we just barely missed meeting each other many times through the years. We both lived near each other in California in the late 90s- Joel even visited my dad’s cigar shop. But alas, we did not meet until many years later. We finally found each other in our fabulous 40s and we are ready to spend the rest of our lives together!

We traveled to Puerto Rico to meet his family. On his birthday we went to a beautiful beachside market. There was music and cultural dancing going on. The dancers stopped for a minute and the singer made an announcement in Spanish- that of course I didn’t understand! I found out later he was saying that there was a special moment about to happen. I didn’t know what was going on until I turned around and all of Joel’s family was holding up signs behind me that said Will You Marry Me? I finally got it and was so surprised! He knelt down on one knee and asked in Spanish if I would marry him and I said Si! Then one of the dancers put a skirt on me and tried to get me to dance. 🤭 it was a funny moment, but I will never forget how sweet everyone was! #weddingbellsforjoelanddanielle
