Our first date was a very exciting day (not only was it Joel and Autumn's first date together it was also Autumn's first ever date, talk about nerve racking)! Our date started with a Kansas State football game (that we unfortunately lost). Following the game we headed to Texas Roadhouse for a great steak dinner, we both ordered the same exact meal (ironically, I guess those that have the same taste in meats get along well). After, we hung out with some of Autumn's friends. The date sadly ended too quickly but there would be many more in the future to look forward to.
Joel, Autumn, and Royal would often go together to Fairmont park on the Kansas River to let Royal run loose and play in the river with sticks. This was originally Autumn's and Royal's tradition to go to this park but once Joel got back from the military, Joel joined in on the tradition (which was a nice bonus might I add). On 9/29/22 Joel took Autumn and Royal down to the river to throw stick for Royal. Autumn thought it was just like any other time at the river, but this time was going to turn into something very special. As they watched the sun fade into the river, Royal swimming after sticks, Joel got down on one knee and asked Autumn the very exciting 4 word phrase that every girl hopes she will hear in her life! Autumn was in awe and happily said the easiest yes she has ever said
