We're getting married!

Ali and Joel met during their time at Texas A&M University. Ali’s friend group of Delta Gammas decided it was time to stop wasting their time chasing around Delts and SAEs to pursue the much more handsome, athletic, and better dressed Sigma Chis, which dropped them right into a party at The Courthouse (the nickname of the house where Joel and his roommates lived). While you might assume that the combination of Joel’s charisma, prospects as a future doctor, and his unmatched hair would have immediately drawn Ali to him, somehow she thought his best place would be right in the middle of the friend zone. While Joel made a few weak attempts to escape this fate over the next few years, he was always too scared that by making his intentions of dating Ali known, he may throw a divide in the strong friend group that had developed between his and Ali’s friends. So Joel stood by, hoping to one day get the opportunity to take out the beautiful Ali on a real date. It wasn’t until 2015 when Joel went away to Lubbock for medical school that Ali realized what she had let slip through her fingertips. After talking during the first few months that Joel was away, Ali agreed to be Joel’s date to a wedding, and that is where their relationship began. Ali and Joel started dating in October 2015, and while the long distance between Lubbock and Houston was not ideal, their dedication, undying love, and Joel selflessly driving back and forth kept the relationship growing. Joel proposed to Ali on December 21st, 2018 on the rooftop of her apartment in Houston and made her the happiest girl in the entire world. Since then, Ali and Joel have bought a house in Temple, TX where Joel matched for his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor Scott & White and Ali started her new job at PwC Austin, all while planning their wedding. The two are so excited to start their lives together as a married couple!
