It all began a hot August afternoon in 2012 when we were both small, naive freshman Billikens. Our dorm floor was preparing to attend a SLU soccer game for Welcome Week... and that's when we saw each other for the first time. There were no fireworks. Fast forward four long years of friendship and ridiculous shenanigans and we finally realized what everyone had been telling us for years - we were meant to be. In August 2018 Joel decided to leave the Midwest behind and take a job in Colorado (yay mountains!) Unfortunately, Madeleine is not well-equipped to handle the cold and snow and thus was not as thrilled about the move. Thankfully love conquers all and she joined him in October. Exactly one week after the move, we ventured up to Boulder where Joel planned to propose. After a few minor hiccups (and a couple beers) Joel found a beautiful lake to pop the question. She said YES... after she recovered from the excitement and the dramatic jumping that ensued. We began our family a little early by adopting the most precious creature to ever walk the earth, our kitty Milo! We're so excited to start our lives together and journey back to Omaha to celebrate with all of you!
