Kenny and Rachel attended the same grammar school, Saint John Vianney, from kindergarten to eighth grade. From second to fifth grade, Kenny and Rachel “dated,” which included chasing each other at recess, playing "footsies" under the classroom desks, and most importantly, being each other's Valentine. Kenny would ask Rachel to be his Valentine each year by gifting her a heart-shaped box of chocolates. Rachel was appreciative of Kenny's kind gesture, but she would re-gift the heart-shaped box of chocolates to her brother because she was too afraid that her dad would be upset at her for having a “boyfriend” at a young age. In addition to their love at school, their fate also guided them to experience their infatuated feelings for each other at the baseball fields. Kenny and Rachel’s brothers played baseball together which led Kenny and Rachel to often spend time together at their baseball games on the weekends. Their young love was known and admired by the baseball parents, which often made Kenny and Rachel blush when one of the parents mentioned it.

After graduating from Saint John Vianney in 2011, Kenny and Rachel both went their separate ways as they attended different high schools, undergraduate colleges, and graduate programs at Seton Hall University. Although they would stay in touch because they had similar friend groups in their hometown, it wasn't until 2018 that their grammar school "love" for each other began to resurface again. It took Kenny quite some time to convince Rachel to go on a date with him (about a year to be exact!), but once Rachel gave it a chance, they never looked back.

After almost four years of dating, Kenny got down on one knee and proposed to Rachel at Liberty State Park on May 18, 2024. Rachel thought that they were going to a surprise 30th birthday party that day and was oblivious to the eventual proposal, while Kenny was checking the weather as often as he could hoping that it wouldn't rain. After the tears of joy, Kenny and Rachel found her dad watching the proposal from a distance wearing a wig. They are beyond excited to celebrate with the ones that they love on October 24, 2025, and to start their forever together.
