We met in one of the most unexpected and unromantic places imaginable: behind the wheel of an ECU bus. But life has its timing, and after we met, we drifted into our own worlds. A full year passed, a whole year of different routines, new jobs, terrible internships, and paths that didn’t quite overlap. Then came the moment that changed everything: we reconnected. One message turned into a long catch-up, which evolved into a spontaneous plan, and ultimately into hours together that felt like minutes. It was as if no time had passed at all, except now, everything fell into place with a clarity that neither of us could ignore. We became inseparable, not because we tried to, but because it finally felt like life had aligned exactly the way it was meant to. Our story found one of its most beautiful chapters in Washington, D.C., during the cherry blossom festival. Surrounded by delicate pink petals and the feeling of spring unfolding around us, we had a trip that will be in our hearts forever. On the way home from this beautiful trip, we stopped at the Natural Bridge in VA with our pups, where we got engaged. It was gentle and perfect, full of happiness and a sense that every step we’d taken, including the detours, had led us right there. From bus routes to blooming cherry blossoms, from time apart to planning a lifetime together, our story is a reminder that love has a way of returning when it’s meant to.
