Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Molly Gionta and Joe Gionta
We are so excited to share our favorite places with you in Portsmouth and beyond! There are lots of things to do in Portsmouth and the surrounding area whether you want to get out on the water, check out historic landmarks, or eat and drink your way through the Seacoast. Seacoast Lately (https://seacoastlately.com/) and Discover Portsmouth Center (https://portsmouthhistory.org/walking-tours/) are great resources for things to do. Please note it is 4th of July weekend so if you are interested in an activity or tour, we encourage you book it early. Molly absolutely loves her hometown and sharing recommendations. If you need specific advice for restaurants or ideas for other activities, don't hesitate to reach out to Molly and Joe.
Portsmouth Harbor Cruises

Portsmouth Harbor Cruises

64 Ceres Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801
, (603) 436-8084

Great way to explore Portsmouth, NH and Kittery, ME waterfront and there are options out to the Isle of Shoals (one of Molly's dad's favorite fishing spots). You might even get lucky and see a seal or a whale!

Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion

Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion

375 Little Harbor Road, Portsmouth, NH 03801
, (603) 436-2233

Wentworth Coolidge Mansion is historically significant as the only original surviving residence of a Royal Governor in the United States. It also served as an artist colony in the 1800s and attracted many notable talents including John Singer Sargent, Beatrix Potter, Edmund Tarbell, and Isabella Stewart Gardner. The Mansion is also nearly the backyard of Molly's parents' home. Molly is the 4th generation to live on Martine Cottage Road (off of Little Harbor Road). If you feel like going on a brief hike, check out the Little Harbor Trail that spans the waterfront, with views of the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel in Newcastle, and brings you through the Wentworth-Coolidge and Creek Farm properties.

Strawbery Banke Museum

Strawbery Banke Museum

Petey's Summertime Seafood

Petey's Summertime Seafood

1323 Ocean Boulevard, Rye, NH 03870

Hands-down the BEST seafood in New Hampshire. Molly's mom, Beth, loves their seafood chowder. Molly enjoys the fried scallops and clams combo platter. Joe loves their fried haddock sandwich.

Kittery Foreside has a great little selection of restaurants and shops. Molly's favorite store is FOLK - natural wine, cookbooks, and great selection of housewares. Joe loves a cocktail from Wallingford Dram. Also nearby (in addition to Lil's), Maine MEAT, a really special whole animal butcher; Black Birch, a restaurant and fun bar with elevated pub food; Anju, a fantastic spot for ramen and okonomiyaki (japanese style pancake); and, a little further down the road, Loco Cocos Tacos, which serves great southern California-style mexican and strong margaritas.

Lil's Cafe

Lil's Cafe

7 Wallingford Square, Kittery, ME 03904
