“I Do Crew”

Carolyn Barrett

Best Woman/Officiant

One of Mackenzie's best women and the wedding officiant, Carolyn has been the yin to Mackenzie's yang since they became family almost 20 years ago. Together, they enjoy discussing how they're ex-step cousins, re-creating James Corden's carpool karaoke, and planning for their future compound (though Joe has taken on much of that responsibility). Carolyn is delighted that Mackenzie has found someone as kind, unique, funny, and loving as she is and enjoys every second she gets to spend with Joe and Mackenzie. When she's not ignoring their calls or incessantly facetiming them, Carolyn works in public relations, claims to write novels, and daydreams on zillow. Qua reverend, she plans to make you all laugh, cry, and squirm at the wedding. Order unclear.

Nick Rogers

Best Man

I met Joe on my first day at the new elementary school. Even then I knew he was a very kind, hard working, rule-following kid—born for his Warwick Ave walker safety monitor job. Although he aged out of the safety belt, I know Joe will always have my back. One day in college, Joe mentioned a girl he met at a party. Being at a party was very out of character for Joe, until I found out it was a marching band party. Knowing Joe, he would gravitate to someone just as genuine and caring as him. I am so thankful to be able to see Mackenzie and Joe make this step in their journey together.

Will Rogers

Best Man

I've been lucky to be able to call Joey my best friend and brother for almost 20 years. He was my first friend when I was at a new elementary school, and welcomed me with immediate kindness and inclusiveness that has continued for the entirety of our friendship. When Joey told me he was asking Mackenzie (an equally amazing person) to be his wife I was so ecstatic for them. The love the two of them share is rare, and together they light up so many lives. I'm honored to be able to stand up with the two of them at their wedding and share in the start of their married life together.

As Joe’s sister, it feels like I’ve known him since ‘nam. Thankfully, as friends know, I’ve truly lucked out in the brother department. I’m sure that I’m not the only one who can attest that he’s pretty fantastic, and that he found a partner who is equally fantastic. I am so excited to welcome Mackenzie as a sister, even though it feels like she’s been part of the family for awhile! So excited to celebrate the love of these two!

Joe and I have known each other we were toddlers. Though we may only see each other once or twice a year, I always get the same Joe every time I see him - a solid, committed friend who never fails to have an interesting story or two to share when we get a moment to sit down and chat about life. It has been a privilege knowing Joe for as long as I have as well as getting to meet Mackenzie over the course of the past few years. I look forward to sharing their special day with the people who enrich their lives.

Mackenzie’s “I Do Crew”

Mackenzie and I met in an unlikely way-I am an SLP, and she was referred to me for voice therapy due to every singer's worst fear: vocal nodes. We got to know each other first professionally, until she met her goals and it was time to part ways. She took a leap of faith and asked if I wanted to be friends-I couldn't have been happier! We became fast friends. Since then, we've spent hours exploring LA, chatting on the phone (or Zoom), and staying up to date on each other’s lives. Making friends as an adult is difficult! But when it's meant to be, it's meant to be. I love Mackenzie’s warm smile, infectious enthusiasm, deeply kind and caring soul, and enormous heart. Joe is an amazing human, and the two of them couldn’t be a better match. I am honored to stand beside them on this special day!

Joe's "I Do Crew"

I met Joe for the first time in 7th grade. I had met him through mutual friends like Nick Rogers, then came Will Rogers. We would always hangout. I remember we even had a facebook group message called the “A-team”. Since then we’ve been close friends, all the way to our now adult life, both living in the West Coast. We talk on a daily basis, and as a friend I couldn’t ask for a better one. Many great memories since as far as I can remember (I mean it, I had to dig in the files to figure out when we met) and many more to come.

Mackenzie’s “I Do Crew”

Hi, My names Briana! I currently live in NH with my husband and 2 year old son. Mackenzie and I met our Freshman year of high school in Wakefield, MA. During our 4 years of high school we were able to build such a strong friendship. A friendship unbreakable by distance. I’m so grateful to be a part of Mackenzie and Joe’s day. Seems like yesterday we were 15, fantasizing about our weddings ❤️

Joe's "I Do Crew"

When I first met Joe and Mackenzie back in our Freshman year at Syracuse University, I had no idea just how wonderful of a friendship would be started and continue to be nurtured over the years to come. I came to know Joe as a fellow Music Major, who happened to live just a few floors above me in our freshman dorm that I had recognized from our classes together at the Setnor School of Music; along with Mackenzie with whom I shared those same classes with, as well as an ensemble position in the Syracuse University Singers. The time since has been filled with untold amounts of fantastic and cherished memories shared with the both of them. I am honored to be called a friend by Joe and Mackenzie and join in wishing them all the years of happiness, love and joy that they will create, together.

Mackenzie’s “I Do Crew”

The easy way to describe our friendship would just be to say that we all went to college together, but it runs deeper than that. Mackenzie and I studied abroad together in Strasbourg France, traveled all over Europe together, made the funniest memories, and grew to be the closest of friends! Joe and I played in orchestra together, but our friendship grew when he became the pit conductor in a student org and I became his pit manager. Together we lugged an entire drum kit to weekly rehearsals all over campus!! It’s been an honor to continue to root for Mackenzie and Joe’s relationship all the way from their first kiss sophomore year to right now!!

Bethany Uko

Mackenzie’s “I Do Crew”

In Fall 2017, the choir gods fatefully forged the beginning of Bethany and Mackenzie’s beautiful friendship outside a Coffee Bean in Simi Valley, CA. Their shared profession as choir directors in the schools brought them together, but it wasn’t long before their friendship blossomed into one so much deeper! The shared laughs, love of wine and all things cozy, day trips, and many nights yelling at several seasons of The Bachelor have given them great memories in a few short years. There’s no doubt there are SO many more to come. Spieldram forever!
