I met Joe on May 19, 2022 at a summer sand volleyball league at the New Berlin Ale House. As fate would have it, Joe's team played mine the first week of the summer. I wish I could remember whose team won that night but that was not the most memorable part. I caught wind from Joe's friend, Dustin, that Joe thought I was cute. After little convincing, I decided to walk over and introduce myself. Unsurprisingly, Joe and I were very awkward and shy. After I got home that night, I added him on Facebook and sent him a message—putting myself out there a little. However, after a few weeks of messaging back and forth, I got the impression he wasn’t all that interested so we stopped talking. As the summer went on, I figured it just wasn’t meant to be. We would see each other on Thursday nights but there was little interaction. However, toward the end of the summer, something shifted. Joe offered to buy me a drink one week and the next he gave me a hug when I was leaving that felt suspiciously cuddly. I realized that maybe he was interested after all and messaged him again the next day. I eventually found out that he was interested all summer but was getting his Wauwatosa house ready to sell and wasn't on his phone much. Our teams played each other again the last night of the league and all hung out together after we played. Joe and I were the last two people to leave the volleyball courts since we didn't want to stop talking and we haven't stopped talking since. On November 27, 2024 Joe asked me to marry him while we were with my family on vacation in Clearwater and I said YES! We can't wait to say "I DO" on 9/19/2026!
