We have been intertwined in each other's lives for some time now. Between attending the same elementary school as kids, to both working at the same place in high school that lead to us sharing the same friend group, to Joe's family regularly visiting the Woburn Country Club.. the list goes on! We have always joked about how we danced around each other for years. We lost touch for a little while, until one day I was outside of the school I worked at and saw Joe running with his gym bag to quickly put it away after work. We reconnected over the fence in shock that we didn't know eachother were there. Also, we realized that his office and my classroom shared a wall. We started hanging out again as friends. We would eat lunch together on our lunch breaks or grab a quick coffee across the street. Joe called me on his way home from Jake and Joes on Christmas Eve in 2017 as I delayed wrapping the rest of my presents. He surprised me at my house and helped me wrap all of my parents gifts. The rest they say... is history.
It was a Wednesday and we had plans to go to the LaBelle Winery Christmas lights. Or so I thought. We had been wanting to go for a few years, but our schedules never allowed us to go. I remember thinking how it was a school night and it was cold, so I was apathetic to going, but noticed how excited Joe was to go in the days leading up to our night out. We got to the winery and I suspected nothing. Apparently we almost ran into both of our parents, my sister Megan and cousin Celine along the way and I was oblivious to them driving right past us. We started our lights tour, and beforehand Joe has asked me which part of the tour I thought looked the most exciting. I remember thinking "Wow, he really loves Christmas lights?!!" I chose Candy Cane Lane. As we approached Candy Cane Lane, Joe told me he has to tie his shoe. I observed and thought, "his shoe isn't tied?" And low and behold he pulled out my DREAM ring, and proposed in front of a crowd of people. It felt like a dream. He had coordinated a photographer to capture the moment and it was absolutely perfect. We completed the tour whilst doing a photoshoot as we walked through the lights to find our families waiting for us at the end. It was an absolute perfect night, highlighting of course that night in 2017 where Joe helped me wrap all of those Christmas gifts. It was amazing and a story I can't wait to keep telling.
