February 15, 2022 Joe was getting his car upgraded with slick tint on his windows and Heather was kind enough to pick him up to grab food and work a little bit from home. When they went back to get the car, Joe got out to say goodbye and started to utter those three words when he caught himself, saving it with a "see you later." This was not the right place or moment for something like that, he thought, but it came so natural without thinking about it. That night they met friends at Buddy's Place to enjoy one of their favorite past times, Trivia Night. After another successful Top 10 finish, it was time to drive the other home. In the kitchen, enjoying a night cap and replaying the day, Joe prodded to find out if Heather heard what he started to say. He made sure she heard him this time. "I love you." "I love you too."
