Becky and Joey's story started like most high school relationships do. No, he was not captain of the football team and she was not a cheerleader but they did meet at a football game. Introduced by their mutual friend, Kyle Fiorito, Joey first laid eyes on Becky in her marching band uniform strolling off the field after the halftime performance. After a few awkward laughs and corny jokes, it was apparent that Becky and Joey's story was just beginning.

After high school Becky and Joey went their separate ways, but remained close friends throughout those seven years. They rekindled their relationship in August 2016 when Joey was in Chicago visiting friends and family. They knew early on that they both had love for each other and after countless weekend trips to Chicago to visit Becky they decided to go all in. Becky eventually moved back home to be closer to Joey and her own family. Over the next two years, Becky and Joey fell more and more in love with each other and knew that this was the real deal.

Joey began planning this special day early on. After a casual lunch in the fall of 2017, at their favorite spot O'Beds & Isaacs, Joey knew his plan. After the meal and friendly conversation, Joey (from the corner of his eye) had noticed Wyndham Hotel in downtown Springfield and immediately began planning this special evening where he would ask the woman sitting across from him to be his wife. After having secret meetings with friends, family and the hotel staff, Joey had coordinated a surprise engagement party for all to enjoy their special moment. On the night of September 29th, 2018, Joey had treated Becky to a birthday dinner at Nick & Nino's steakhouse at the top of the Wyndham Hotel. Nervous as can be, Joey barely touched his food and periodically checked his watch as if awaiting a big moment. After dinner, Becky and Joey made a casual stroll to a local bar to celebrate Becky's birthday and passed through the courtyard of the Illinois Old State Capital. String lights illuminated the courtyard on a crystal clear night that only the good Lord could have provided, Joey dropped down on one knee and fought through the tears to ask the women of his dreams to be his wife. Tears rolled down Becky's cheek as she happily said yes and the two shared the most special moment of their lives together. After the impromptu photo shoot that Joey had arranged, Joey brought Becky back upstairs to the restaurant/bar for a celebratory drink only to find 40 of their friends and family waiting for their arrival for a surprise engagement party to celebrate the happy couple and their new journey ahead.

A few short weeks after Joey proposed, he was given an opportunity to work in a city he's always admired. So Joey and his family packed up his house and moved him to Louisville, KY two days after Christmas 2018. It was a bittersweet goodbye for the newly engaged couple but they knew it would only be temporary. After 5 long months of waiting, Becky was finally able to find a job for herself and moved to join Joey in their new city. They're now having fun exploring Louisville together with their dogs Darla and Ollie, but are even more excited about starting their new life together as a married couple.
