Welcome!

We met on Bumble. Yep, that’s the story. We had lots in common: our birthday week, college athletics, experiences working abroad, a deep interest in our family history, and a serious love for food, dogs, and yoga. We came to find that those similarities were just the beginning (and Joe will tell you that Ashlyn reached out the minute they “matched”). The next part of our story involved yoga on our first date and Joe making gnocchi for Ashlyn two days later. The week after that, a stranger asked us how long we’d been married as we were breaking it down on the dance floor. 🕺💃 In our typical “zero to 1000” fashion, we drove to Colorado together a month later, met each other’s entire families, and somehow grew closer while Ashlyn lived abroad (again) for several months. Joe was beyond supportive, Ashlyn rushed home earlier than expected, and we couldn’t have been happier to live with zero oceans in the way. Since then, Joe opened his second culinary concept, Ashlyn began teaching at the same elementary school that Joe attended, and we have become a family of three with Ernie, the adorable French bulldog. We have found such joy in being together ever since that first day, and absolutely love the idea of being stuck with each other for life. The only thing better would be to celebrate with you - three years later to the day! We can’t wait to see everyone in August!

We adopted these nicknames for each other soon after meeting: Giuseppe (Joseph in Italian) - originally coined by the Best Man, and Smashy - Ashlyn’s middle school nickname/AIM screenname. 🤗
