We met 8 years ago on January 15th, 2011 at a club named Bella 32. I was out celebrating one of my best friend’s birthday, when all of the sudden on my way to the bar I locked eyes with him. He approached me and our connection was instant! He asked who I was with and I explained that I was with a group of friends celebrating a birthday. He then asked if he could join me, I accepted and it ended up being a night to remember! We exchanged phone numbers on the way out, but the next day when he texted me I explained to him that it was a mistake that I made in giving him my phone number because I had a “BF”, and soon I will be moving out to San Marcos, TX to pursue my college education. He then told me not to worry and we went on our separate paths; but deep inside I knew it would’ve never worked out anyway's because we would be too far away. Four years went by and I was back in Dallas in another relationship when suddenly I received a text from the same guy I met years ago, but I had to ignore. My previous relationship ended up not working out, so I decided to go on vacation to Nicaragua with my entire family. After coming back from my vacation I received a text from the same guy on September 19th, 2016. I thought to myself WOW this guy has been so.. persistent throughout the years, so I finally decided to give him a chance. After constant communication for weeks, we went on our very first date on October 1st, 2016. I was BEYOND NERVOUS to meet him! It had been 5 years since the last time I saw him, so I didn’t know what to expect. He picked me up and I was SUPER quiet on the way to dinner, he had definitely grown up. Once at dinner he opened up with me and made me feel comfortable. Little did I know that connection we made the first time we met, would spark up once again. After talking to him throughout dinner, I came to find out that we both grew up in C.A, and we had a lot in common. I then knew towards the end of the night, that he would be the ONE!

Joe had gone to the reception area Wednesday morning in order to make dinner reservations for that night. He told me that due to high demand of the restaurant, we needed to be ready by 6:50PM in order for us to be seated. He pushed the fact that I NEEDED to get ready early, since I take so long with hair and makeup lol and he didn’t want us to miss our reservation.It was Wednesday night, and I was getting ready for dinner per usual, and Joe had already gotten dressed, and was just watching tv in the room while he waited for me to finish up getting ready. It was nothing out of the ordinary, but SURPRISINGLY I got ready just in time! It was 6:40PM when I told him that I was ready, and that we should start heading towards the restaurant; but he was like “we still have time” let’s just wait until 7:00PM. I was a bit confused since he was so eager for me to be ready early, but I didn’t think anything of it. I figured he told me to be ready early, so that I don’t take longer than usual. The clock stroke 7:00PM, and out the door we went on our way to the restaurant, so I thought. All of the sudden he turns left towards the beach instead of right which is where the restaurant was, and I had this confused look on my face when all of the sudden we are walking towards the beach and a man comes out of nowhere and starts a fire and the song “Perfect” starts playing by Ed Sheeran, and to my SURPRISE the fire was made into the shape of a heart with our initials A & J on the side! I was BEYOND SHOCKED, and when I turned to look at him to ask him what was going on? He was down on one knee and popped the question! Will you marry me? I then started to tear up and gave him the BIGGEST HUG EVER and said YES! I THANK GOD for that night and for all the BLESSINGS he has given us, and I can’t wait to say I do on our SPECIAL DAY! It DEFINITELY was a night that I will NEVER FORGET!

Nos conocimos hace 8 años el 15 de enero del 2011 en un club llamado Bella 32. Estaba celebrando el cumpleaños de una de mis mejores amigas, cuando de repente, de camino al bar, lo miré a los ojos. ¡Se acercó a mí y nuestra conexión fue instantánea! Me preguntó con quién estaba y le expliqué que estaba con un grupo de amigas celebrando un cumpleaños. Luego me preguntó si podía unirse a mi grupo, ¡acepté y terminó siendo una noche divertida! Intercambiamos números de teléfono al salir, pero al día siguiente, cuando me envió un mensaje de texto, le expliqué que había cometido un error al darle mi número de teléfono porque tenía un "BF", y que pronto me iría a San Marcos, TX para continuar mi educación universitaria. Luego me dijo que no me preocupara y seguimos nuestros caminos separados. En el fondo sabía que nunca funcionaría de todos modos porque estaríamos lejos. Pasaron 4 años y volví a Dallas, yo estaba en una relación nueva cuando de repente recibí un mensaje de texto del mismo tipo que conocí hace años, pero tuve que ignorarlo. Esa relación en la que estaba se había acabado, así que decidí irme de vacaciones a Nicaragua con mi familia. Después de regresar de mis vacaciones, recibí un mensaje de texto del mismo chico el 19 de septiembre del 2016; El chico había sido tan persistente a lo largo de los años, entonces darle una oportunidad. Después de hablar con el durante semanas, finalmente fuimos a nuestra primera cita el 1 de octubre del 2016. Yo estaba SÚPER nerviosa porque habían pasado 5 años desde la última vez que lo vi, no sabía qué esperar. Me llego a recoger, yo estaba MUY callada camino a la cena, se veía que el había madurado. Una vez en la cena, se abrió conmigo y me hizo sentir cómoda; y esa conexión que hicimos la primera vez que nos conocimos, se volvió a encender. Después de hablar con él durante la cena, descubrí que ambos crecimos en C.A; teníamos mucho en común. ¡Entonces supe hacia el final de la noche, que el sería el INDICADO!

Joel había ido a la recepción el miércoles por la mañana para hacer reservas para la cena de esa noche. Me dijo que debido a la gran demanda del restaurante, necesitábamos estar listos a las 6:50 PM para que nos sentaran. Insistió en el hecho de que NECESITO prepararme temprano, porque me dilato tanto tiempo con el cabello y el maquillaje jajaja y no quería que nos perdiéramos nuestra reserva. Era miércoles por la noche, y me estaba preparando para la cena de costumbre, y Joel ya se había vestido y estaba viendo televisión en la habitación mientras esperaba que terminara de prepararme. No fue nada fuera de lo común, pero ¡Sorprendentemente, me preparé justo a tiempo! Eran las 6:40 PM cuando le dije que estaba lista y que debíamos comenzar a dirigirnos hacia el restaurante; pero dijo "todavía tenemos tiempo", esperemos hasta las 7:00 p.m. Estaba un poco confundida ya que él estaba ansioso para que yo estuviera lista temprano, pero no pensé nada de eso. Supuse que me dijo que estuviera lista temprano, para no demorarme más de lo habitual. El reloj marcó las 7:00 PM, y comenzamos a dirigimos hacia el restaurante, así pensé. De repente, el gira a la izquierda hacia la playa, pero el restaurante está hacia la derecha, yo tenía una mirada confusa en mi rostro cuando de repente caminamos hacia la playa y un hombre sale de la nada y comienza el fuego y la canción "Perfect" comienza a sonar por Ed Sheeran, y para mi SORPRESA, ¡el fuego se hizo en forma de corazón con nuestras iniciales A y J a un lado! Yo estaba bien ida viendo hacia el fuego, y cuando di la vuelta para mirarlo y preguntarle qué estaba pasando?! el estaba sobre una rodilla, y me hizo la pregunta ¿Te casarías conmigo? Entonces comencé a llorar y le di el ABRAZO MÁS GRANDE que le he dando en su vida! y le dije ¡SÍ! ¡GRACIAS A DIOS por esa noche y por todas las BENDICIONES que nos ha dado, y no puedo esperar para decir que sí en nuestro DÍA ESPECIAL! Definitivamente fue una noche que nunca olvidaré!
